Today is a wonderful day to celebrate Dad's! I personally am so thankful for my Dad.
I have so many memories with my dad, he used to travel a lot when I was little and I remember hearing the garage door open and him walk in through the door, if I was awake I would not let him get but a couple steps in the door before I would run into his arms to give him lots of hugs and kisses!
Saturday mornings were our date mornings. My dad and I would go out to run his errands to exciting places like the post office and the dry cleaners! I would sit on the counter at the post office as he would go through all the mail and he would let me throw away the junk mail. We would also get to maybe go get donuts on some of those mornings which of course was a favorite! Since I was an only child till I was 12 this was a time for just my dad and I which I loved!
As I have gotten older my dad has been the one I go to with all my questions, problems and advice. He has helped me with my business in so many ways even though he knows pretty much nothing about photography. He always lets me know what I should do in different situations and I am so thankful for his guidance! One of the things that I am most thankful for though to both of my parents is their Christian walk and example they have been to me. I cannot imagine living this life with out God, after all He is the best Dad anyone could ask for!
One of the things that I have loved the most about my job is seeing how families interact and show their love for each other. Here are a few images of just some of the dad's that we have photographed over the last couple years!
Over the past almost two years I have also had the pleasure of meeting and photographing a wonderful family. You have read about them and prayed for them before. The Clayton Family is an amazing family that has been through so much over the last 21 months. Over the past year their daughter Willamina was diagnosed with liver cancer, has since had a liver transplant and has had spots removed from her lungs. She has went through over 10 chemo cycles and is now going throught 100 days in the hospital in Cincy so they can do a stem cell harvest and see if they can get their little girl well again. They are also excecting another little girl in a month. On Saturday Willamina's Poppy wrote a post on their blog and it just hit home and was just what a father's love should be like. If you would like to read it go to her blog....http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/willamina/journal and read the journal post from Saturday. It might make you cry but it will touch you as well!
Enjoy your Father's Day!

Back in April this family of 3 came in to celebrate miss "n's" birthday and did a few family images as well. I can not wait to see their images up once their new home is finished being built! They are going to look awesome....All of these images are going on a wall in their family room and in a grouping with sizes 10x10 to 20x24 all together! I hope I get to see a picture of them all hanging up!
This last one will be going in her room! It will look so cute!
Enjoy!

Hi Chanel,
Cute pictures! (as always!)
Stephanie
Last month, I went up to Chicago land and met up with some new awesome clients that were referred by some clients from Evanston, who used to live in Chicago, who were referred to me by another client who lived in Chicago, who heard about me through a friend of her's from Kankakee, who heard about me from their mother who heard about me through her friends in a bridge club! The women at the bridge club were all talking about a birth announcement that I did of a little girl, who is still a client that is now 5.5 year old! I love how referrals work! Oh and by the way....I think everyone of these clients saw the images through birth announcements! It is crazy how it works but it is so fun! Thank you to all my clients for your wonderful referrals.....I would not be able to keep doing what I do with out them!
So anyway on to these adorbable images! These are almost all going in a wall collection that will hang in their hall and be added onto in the years to come! It will look awesome....simple black frames and black/white images....can't get more timeless than that!
Love this image of Daddy and Will.....so cute!
Little George.....so cute!
The whole family.....this is a wall portrait going on their staircase landing! LOVE that it is so full of life!
Adorable boys....Will loved teh boxes...he didnot want to get out of them!
Will was not really interested in holding George so into the boxes they went and Will didn't want to get out! and George well he was a little unsure!
I have had several requests and may make it up for a few more week day sessions in June or July in the Chicago-land area. Let me know if you are interested!
BIG news for all of our blog readers.....each month we will gather together all the names of clients who have made comments on the blog and you will be entered in a drawing for $50 in credit for that month! The more times you comment the more times you are entered in the drawing! So who out there is reading this blog anyway? Enjoy!

Chanel,
I am reading your blog! Fantastic pics! Why didn't I know you when my kids were little? Well, they are still kind of little, but its great to capture this age....they grow out of it so fast. It will be a wonderful collection to add to. Emily
Chanel,
I read your blog daily...adorable pictures! I love to hear how others display their images. I'm sure it will look fantastic
I just read it do I count!
Surely by now you know I read the blog! ; )
I do have to say, though, I love the one you said they're doing the wall portrait of - what a great family shot!
So Tuesday Morning after the heavy rains on Monday night, Colleen calls me to say that the carpet was wet where her desk was! Well it was soaked and so was most of the frame room and prop room. So we moved everything out of both of those rooms for the most part and it is all sitting in the studio. I am sorry tha we had to move several studio sessions this week but with getting the carpet dried out and getting everything put back it is a little crazy!
We are moving things back today and hopefully should be fully up and running tomorrow....although 6 out of my 7 sessions in the next few days are outside! SO hopefully the rain will hold off again!
I took James to the airport on Monday and he says he left just in time, so he didn't have to help move all the furniture! He was kidding, although some how whenever he is down he moves something for us!
Here is a an iphone image from when I picked him up in Chicago last week! It looks like he will be moving down this year....late summer/early fall and now we will be getting married next spring sometimes just not for sure when!
Have a great day and I will try to get some new images up again soon! Lots of fun sessions this weekend should help!
Chanel
Aw this is so cute Chanel!! It's so great that he's moving here! See you soon! Rachel and Pat
